Job Title: Service Technician

Pay: Starting at $22/hour
Location: Dallas Area with regional travel required

 

Position Summary

The Service Technician plays a vital role in supporting SSG clients through ongoing preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of mechanical, electrical, and automated storage systems. This position works closely with the Service Manager to ensure that all client systems operate safely, efficiently, and reliably. This is a customer-facing field role that requires technical proficiency, strong communication skills, and a commitment to delivering exceptional service and support.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventative maintenance on automated storage systems according to manufacturer and SSG standards.

  • Diagnose and troubleshoot equipment issues; perform repairs and part replacements as needed.

  • Respond to service calls promptly and professionally, minimizing downtime for clients.

  • Document all work performed, parts used, and recommendations for future service in company systems.

  • Collaborate with the Service Manager to prioritize and schedule service activities efficiently.

  • Provide excellent customer service by communicating clearly, setting accurate expectations, and following up on open items.

  • Conduct safety checks and ensure all service work complies with OSHA and company safety guidelines.

  • Maintain tools, equipment, and company provided vehicle in proper working order.

  • Support warranty claims and service reporting processes as directed by the Service Manager.

Working Conditions

  • Frequent travel to customer sites (regional).

  • Work involves a variety of indoor and mechanical environments.

  • Some climbing, bending and standing for extended periods required.

  • May require occasional overtime or flexible scheduling based on client needs.

Qualifications Required

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • 2+ years of experience in equipment maintenance, repair, or field service (mechanical/electrical systems preferred).

  • Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to read and interpret service manuals, wiring diagrams, and schematics.

  • Excellent communication and customer interaction skills.

  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and work safely in active environments.

Qualifications Preferred

  • Experience with automated storage, shelving, or material handling systems.

  • Basic electrical and control systems knowledge.

  • OSHA 10/30 certification or willingness to obtain.

  • Proficiency with service management software or mobile work order systems.

  • Knowledge of Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs)
