Job description
We are seeking a driven and highly skilled VP of Finance & Administration. The VP of Finance & Administration will serve on the executive leadership team and will lead the direction of the financial and human resources sectors of the company. This person will be responsible for the accounting operations of the company and certifying that reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP). This person will also provide oversight and guidance of the human resources function.
Location: Lewisville office (Hybrid)
Responsibilities
- Oversee accounts, ledgers, and reporting systems, maintaining internal controls and compliance with GAAP
- Prepare and publish accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
- Lead month-end and year-end close processes, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and coordination with external auditors
- Train, mentor, and evaluate staff, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development
- Perform budgeting and strategic financial planning, providing financial modeling, forecasting, and analysis
- Manage local, state, and federal government reporting and tax filings
- Liaise with external tax advisors to ensure compliance and effective tax strategies
- Maintain annual Employee Stock Ownership Plan valuation and compliance
- Manage annual 401k compliance
- Negotiation and administration of annual employee health benefits and commercial insurance program
- Review and execution of all sales contracts with customers
- Oversee the HR functions including recruitment, benefits administration, employee relations, communications, training & education, and safety & compliance
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field (Master's preferred)
- Current CPA certification required
- Experience managing the Human Resources function
- Proven experience as a Controller in a distribution or commercial services company
- 10 or more years of accounting and financial management experience
- Strong analytical skills, business acumen, and the ability to communicate financial insights effectively
- Excellent leadership skills and personal integrity
- Exceptional verbal, written, and visual communication skills
- Understanding of advanced accounting, regulatory issues, and tax planning
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
